Centre of Excellence on Disaster Studies and Resilience

The Centre of Excellence on Disaster Studies and Resilience is established with the objective of advancing interdisciplinary research, education, training, and community engagement in the field of disaster risk reduction, resilience, and sustainable development. The Centre focuses on understanding natural and human-induced disasters and developing innovative, science-based solutions to enhance preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery at local, regional, and national levels.

Housed within Adamas University, the Centre brings together experts from diverse disciplines — including engineering, environmental science, public health, social sciences, and policy studies — to address the multifaceted challenges posed by disasters. Through collaborative research programs, the Centre seeks to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical implementation, empowering stakeholders at every level with evidence-based strategies for disaster risk management.

The Centre also plays a vital role in capacity building by offering specialized training programs, workshops, and certification courses designed for professionals, researchers, and community leaders. By engaging with government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations, the Centre contributes to the development of robust disaster management frameworks, early warning systems, and resilient infrastructure solutions that protect lives and livelihoods across vulnerable regions.
