The Centre of Excellence on Disaster Studies and Resilience is established with the objective of advancing interdisciplinary research, education, training, and community engagement in the field of disaster risk reduction, resilience, and sustainable development. The Centre focuses on understanding natural and human-induced disasters and developing innovative, science-based solutions to enhance preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery at local, regional, and national levels.
Conduct advanced research on natural hazards, climate change impacts, and disaster resilience of infrastructure and communities.
Offer training programs, workshops, certification courses, and awareness programs on disaster management and resilience.
Foster collaboration among academia, industry, government agencies, and civil society for effective disaster management.
Promote community engagement and outreach activities to enhance disaster awareness and preparedness.
Encourage policy-oriented research and contribute to national and regional disaster management plans.
Develop risk assessment models, mitigation strategies, and resilient design frameworks for sustainable development.
Dr. Snehamanju Basu has made significant contributions to academia and administration throughout her career. She serves as Director IQAC and Director of the Centre of Excellence on Disaster Studies and Resilience at Adamas University, bringing decades of academic leadership and research expertise in geography and urban studies.
